Michael A. Christ has served in numerous capacities within government, including 14 years as a legislative leader in the Connecticut General Assembly, with four of those years as Deputy Majority Leader. He also served as Legal Counsel to the Connecticut Speaker of the House, directed the legislative efforts of the Office of Governor Dannel P. Malloy, and was Vice President of Government Affairs for UnitedHealth Group’s New England region.
While serving as Legal Counsel for Governor Malloy, Michael was a key leader responsible for developing and advancing legislative proposals to the General Assembly. He was instrumental in bringing the Jackson Laboratory Genomic Medicine Institute to Connecticut, helped negotiate the Governor’s bipartisan Jobs & Economic Development legislation, coordinated annual budget proposals, and served as an effective liaison between the Governor and legislative leaders.
As a principal in Levin, Paolino & Christ, Michael utilizes his training and experience to serve a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from construction and the maritime industry to complex tax and business operation issues. He has conscientiously worked to further the goals of and solve problems for his clients.
Michael served in the U.S. Air National Guard from 1980 to 1984. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Central Connecticut State University, a Juris Doctor from Western New England School of Law, and was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 2002.
Michael is active in his local community, having previously served on the Board of Education and Zoning Board of Appeals. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence and volunteers with the Connecticut Department of Rehabilitation Services for the Blind and Habitat for Humanity.
