Connecticut General Assembly Convenes To Extend Governor’s Executive Orders

The Connecticut General Assembly will meet Monday and Tuesday of next week to extend Governor Ned Lamont’s pandemic-related emergency declarations which are set to expire next Thursday. The Legislature is expected to extend the executive authority until February 15, 2022. If legislators extend his powers, this will be the sixth time since March 2020 that his powers have been extended. This extension will be focused on a small portion of prior extended emergency orders. Democratic legislative leadership has indicated that they are going to approve Governor Lamont’s extension.
