Lamont Administration to Distribute Masks and At-Home COVID-19 Tests
Governor Ned Lamont announced that 6 million N95 masks and 3 million at-home covid tests are going to be distributed to Connecticut residents. Starting December 30, individuals will be able to access masks and tests at no cost. This announcement comes as the Omicron variant has caused a significant uptick in COVID-19 cases across the state, which has made COVID-19 testing scarce. Locations where residents can pick up the testing kits and masks has not yet been announced. From the Governors office: “The week between Christmas and New Year’s Day is likely to be a period of high transmission, and we have to get 2022 off to a good start by helping residents identify COVID-19 quickly and take those steps to isolate appropriately to curb any further spread.”
